Vancouver Canucks

It’s that time of year again, when the weather turns cooler and the gray clouds bring everyone back inside their homes, to the bars and to the ice rink. The 2009-2010 hockey season starts today and the Vancouver Canucks are in Calgary playing their division rivals, the Flames.

The puck drops at 7:00 PM PDT, but there will be some fresh faces out on the ice tonight. Christian Ehrhoff and Mathieu Schneider who play defense, right-wing forwards Mikhail Samuelsson and Sergei Shirokov and goaltender Andrew Raycroft, are all new to the west coast. The quest for Lord Stanley’s cup is on!

The Canucks play in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday before returning Monday to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets for the Vancouver home opener.
