Supermoon

Last night, a supermoon lit up the evening skies providing an up close look at our lunar neighbour. Not as large as I expected, but it was still pretty brilliant.

I ventured out last night with my camera and 55-300mm lens with the hope that the moon would be close enough for some unexpected detail. Unfortunately, by the time it rose over the west coast, it had started moving away. Nevertheless, I was able to get some shots, albeit without the extreme detail I was hoping for (that, or I need a better telephoto lens).
