Ryan Dempster warming up for the Cubs
The Chicago Cubs have ended the rumors and traded pitcher Ryan Dempster to the Texas Rangers.
For the past few weeks, there was plenty of talk over where the Sechelt-born pitcher would go – the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and so on. However, at the last minute before the end of the trade deadline, Dempster chose the Lone Star state.
In return for Dempster, the Cubs received third baseman Christian Villanueva and pitcher Kyle Hendricks from the Rangers.
Dempster played 15 games with the Cubs this season for a 2.25 ERA with 5 wins and 5 losses.
