The first few weeks of the 2012-2013 regular season have been cancelled by the National Hockey League (NHL). 82 games between October 11th and October 24th, 2012 ended up being dropped due to the ongoing labour dispute between the NHL and National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA).

Both groups have been engaged in a debate over the distribution of income the league receives. Negotiations eventually failed which culminated into a lockout at 9:00 pm PDT on September 16th, 2012.
