In a recent magazine interview with Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts III Director Tetsuya Nomura has divulged more juicy details of the upcoming game. While while key points were not revealed, the storyline continues right after Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and will be the last to feature Xehanort as the protagonist. New worlds are being developed and will use “Kingdom Shaders” to bring a unique and true Disney visual experience to each level. Rumours of Riku and Kairi becoming playable characters in addition to Sora, Donald and Goofy have spread online, but Nomura has not confirmed this.

As work on Kingdom Hearts III advances, further information will be unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2013 this September and Japan D23 in October 2013. The game will be available for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
