Nintendo has revealed the title of the latest Nintendo 3DS adventure: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. As part of the E3 festivities this week, the latest incarnation in the Legend of Zelda series serves as a follow-up to the Super NES favourite The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

With all new game play and abilities, Link must traverse the vast world of Hyrule that remains infested with hostile creatures. The visuals released so far bring a mix of the 16-bit classic with some of the newer games — Link’s Hylian Shield, for example, takes its design from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, where as his drawing form is reminiscent of the historical artwork in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

No official date of release has been made available.
