Studio Ghibli film retrospective returns

Back by popular demand, Castles in the Sky: The Return of Studio Ghibli makes a reappearance at the Cinematheque in downtown Vancouver this summer. Films by Japan’s beloved Studio Ghibli will be screened on across multiple dates in July and early August 2013.

Titles in this retrospective of Studio Ghibli include Castle in the Sky, Ponyo, My Neighbour Totoro, Pom Poko, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbours the Yamadas, Porco Rosso, From Up on Poppy Hill, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, Whisper of the Heart, and Howl’s Moving Castle, plus two unreleased films (in North America that is): Only Yesterday and The Ocean Waves. The films will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles, except for Ponyo which will be shown in English. Princess Mononoke and The Ocean Waves are 14A and require adult accompaniment.

Screenings during Castles in the Sky: The Return of Studio Ghibli will be held on July 4th through 6th, 8th, 10th through 14th, 18th through 31st and August 1st through 5th.
