Following their panel at Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois, Viz Media has disclosed that they have secured the license to the Sailor Moon anime series. This includes the rights to Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon Super S, and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars — 200 episodes in total, all in their original uncut glory.

Viz Media’s revival of the Sailor Moon series will retain the original Japanese voice tracks with subtitles and a completely new English vocal cast. Blu-ray and DVD boxes are set for release in the fall of 2014.

Word has it that series creator Naoko Takeuchi is vetting the selection of the English voice cast.

The original Sailor Moon anime premiered in North America almost 20 years ago, dubbed and edited by DiC Entertainment.

Viz Media will be releasing new episodes through their online streaming service Neon Alley and through Hulu, which begins on Monday, May 19th, 2014. No word if Canadian users will be able to join in on the streaming series.
