Naruto volume 48
Naruto finally confronts Pain and learns the horrible back story about his rival. Meanwhile, in Konohagakure, a political war wages with a new ninja coming to power who carries some very convoluted ideals. This new ninja passes some very drastic measures which affect Naruto and his team mates in the worst way possible.
The fight continues on store shelves June 1st, 2010 at $9.99 USD/$12.99 CAD.
Comic book artist Nick Simmons, who is the son of famed Kiss bassist, Gene Simmons, has found himself in hot water after scathing complaints of plagiarism. Simmons’ comic book Incarnate is believed to have taken artwork, ideas, and dialogue from manga such as Bleach, Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, and NANA.
Viz Media is apparently aware of the situation, as is Bleach mangaka Tite Kubo, who has already commented via Twitter. Simmons has not responded to the accusations.

Fullmetal Alchemist volume 23
Wielding a Philosopher’s Stone, Alphonse Elric enters a showdown with both Pride and Kimblee. Alphonse may need a plan for beating the homunculus and the traitor – his most vicious encounter yet.
At the same time, Edward Elric and his group are ambushed by Envy in the tunnels below Central and Roy Mustang uncovers the horrific truth about the murder of his friend, Maes Hughes.
This continuation of the adventure will be on store shelves on July 20th, 2010.
Soul Eater fans can pick up part one of the series on DVD on February 9th, 2010. The first set will feature 13 episodes over two discs with both Japanese and English vocals.
The second DVD set is scheduled for release on March 30th, 2010. Fans of the manga will be able to grab volume two on February 23rd, 2010.

The first Naruto Shippuden box set is expected on store shelves January 26th, 2010. A special edition box set will also be available, similar to how the first series Naruto collections were done, usually with a limited edition figure. No word yet on what the special edition will include.
The box set will contain three DVDs and come with both Japanese and English dubs. English subtitles are available for the Japanese language track.
Fullmetal Alchemist volume 22
Alphonse and Hohenheim devise a plan to be captured by Pride and trick him into the darkness where his powers are limited. Edward’s group, including Scar and Lan Fan, head out to take on the mysterious Father, leaving Greed to take his own path.
Meanwhile, Mustang gathers his troops and kidnaps Fuhrer Bradley’s wife take over the military. However, the homunculus have a different plan and clash with the two groups as they struggle to prevent the giant transmutation from being used.
The battle continues on store shelves January 19th, 2010.
A new Naruto anime short has been posted on the Weekly Shonen Jump web site. The original story features Uchiha Sasuke when he was still part of Squad 7 under Kakashi’s leadership. Along with Naruto, there’s a short from another series called Toriko. Both videos were previewed in Japan at Jump Super Anime Tour locations.
The videos are only viewable using special software on the Weekly Shonen Jump web site and is currently available for Windows-based computers.
The short was released in part with Naruto’s tenth anniversary.
