Anime Evolution 2010 dates and venue

The dates and location for Anime Evolution 2010 have been released. The convention will be held on August 13th to 15th, 2010 at the University of British Columbia.

The date change was done to accommodate other conventions in neighbouring provinces and states, while the decision to return to the university was made due to room setup and configuration issues.

Personally, I liked the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre due to its location and proximity to public transit, food and accommodation. The bonus: everything under one roof with air conditioning! Wearing a jacket and wig in summer is not fun. However, beauty is skin deep and while it looks nice on the outside, the convention staff ran into some situations with room setup and other things.

Registration is not open at the moment and is expected to begin later this year.

  1. I need to know the exact location of the anime convention in vancouver for 2010 on map if you could get that please. Because me and my friends aren’t from vancouver and need to be able to find it. I tried searching it on google map and a couple of university of british columbia’s showed up. A more specific address would be very helpful, please and thank you.

    1. Hi Rachel,
UBC is a large campus, and unfortunately I don’t have the exact location of where the convention will be held this year. I would recommend visiting the Location and Maps page on the Anime Evolution web site for further details when they become available.
If Anime Evolution is going to be setup like it was in 2008, it’s possible that the convention will be centred around the Student Union Building at 6138 Student Union Blvd, University of British Columbia, which is near a bus loop.

I hope this is helpful in your visit.
