Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration

Viz Media had announced on Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 that it will be running Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration, a revamped version of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s classic manga series Rurouni Kenshin, in their Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha (or SJ Alpha).

The story follows Himura Kenshin as he struggles to defend those caught up in Japan’s turbulent Meiji period. During his journey, Kenshin seeks to atone for the blood-stained actions in his past.

Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration will begin publication in SJ Alpha starting Monday, May 21st, 2012, just two weeks after hitting the presses in Japan.

SJ Alpha is a digital publication succeeding the printed Shonen Jump magazine which ended in April 2012.
