Transit users in Metro Vancouver will be paying more to get around on buses, SkyTrain, SeaBus and the West Coast Express starting January 1st, 2013. TransLink is raising fares to cover costs for maintenance, operations, along with inflation. The last fare increase occurred in 2008.

According to TransLink’s press release, fares makes up 33% of the organization’s income.

1 Zone $2.50 becomes $2.75
2 Zones $3.75 becomes $4.00
3 Zones $5.00 becomes $5.50
Off peak hours
All zones $2.50 becomes $2.75

DayPass
All Zones, All Day $9.00 becomes 9.75

Monthly FareCard
1 Zone $81.00 becomes $91.00
2 Zones $110.00 becomes $124.00
3 Zones $151.00 becomes $170.00

FareSaver (book of 10)
1 Zone $21.00 stays unchanged
2 Zones $31.50 stays unchanged
3 Zones $42.00 stays unchanged
