To kick off the Year of the Horse, the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver will be hosting the annual Chinese New Year’s Parade on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. Chinese (or Lunar) New Year falls on Friday, January 31st, 2014.

Come out and enjoy this colourful procession as it makes its way through the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown with dancers, musicians, floats, costumes and the impressive prancing dragons.

The parade begins at 11:00 am PST at the Millennium Gate on Pender Street before moving east along Pender Street, crossing Carrall, Columbia and Main Streets, turning south along Gore Street, and then back west along Keefer Street towards the end at Carrall Street. Arrive early to grab your spot along the route — take SkyTrain to the Stadium – Chinatown station to avoid the traffic congestion on nearby streets.
