The Hylian Shield is a legendary design, spanning everything from actual replica shields, backpacks, to t-shirts and now the New Nintendo 2DS XL. As an added bonus, a pre-loaded copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is included. On July 2nd, 2018, this Hylian Shield-inspired portable console goes on sale only at GameStop in the US and EB Games in Canada.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL lacks the 3D capability of the Nintendo 3DS line, but can play all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D. The screens are larger, with a C-stick for additional control and improved processor for performance.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds takes place after the events of the SNES classic The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and utilizes Link’s ability to travel between worlds as a painting after his fateful encounter with the sorcerer Yuga. The destiny of two worlds hangs in the balance with Link moving through the void to save both lands.
The Hylian Shield edition New Nintendo 2DS XL has a suggested retail price of $159.99 USD or $209.99 CAD.
