The date for this years’ Free Comic Book Day is being pushed back to this summer due to complications related to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Out of an abundance of caution and to keep both retailers and customers safe, the decision to delay Free Comic Book Day was made by the Diamond Comic Distributors and posted to the official site back in March.
- The Legend of Zelda & Splatoon: Squid Kids by Akira Himekawa / Hideki Goto from Viz Media.
- Naruto & Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru by Masashi Kishimoto / Masashi Kishimoto, Akira Okubo from Viz Media.
- Street Fighter #100 Ryu vs Chun Li by Ken Siu-Chong, Panzer from Udon.
- Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai, Julie Fujii from IDW Publishing.
- Manhwa Contempory Korean Comics by Ancco, Yeon-Sik Hong, Keum Suk Gendry-Kim, Yeong-Shin Ma.

On the first Saturday of May, fans descend upon on their local comic shop to pick up a handful of specially printed titles for free. These aren’t fully printed editions, but samplers allowing various artists and publishers to reach those who may not have picked up their works otherwise. It’s also a fun way to get out and meet fellow fans and to speak with retailers.
This year, Free Comic Book Day would’ve been held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020.
A new date for Free Comic Book Day was not provided, but the official web site advised to check back or visit their social media channels for updates.
