New surfing anime Wave!! being released in three parts starting 2020

It’s time to hit the beach with a new anime about surfing called Wave!!. The concept was created by video game publisher MAGES., with the animation done under supervision of producer Takaharu Ozaki at Asahi Production. The first instalment of the Wave!! trilogy is being shown in Japanese theatres later in 2020.

Set on the shores of Ōarai in Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture, Wave!! involves a group of young men who all share a love of surfing. Masaki Hinaoka, a resident of Ōarai becomes friends with transfer student Shō Akitsuki and introduces him to his favourite pastime.

A brief trailer was released on YouTube yesterday alongside a new web site for the production, complete with promotional artwork and a cast list.
