A staple of summer in Vancouver is the PNE and Playland with the rides, attractions, the food and the crowds. Even though British Columbia is doing well at flattening the curve in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, large events and gatherings are cancelled. There is some good news: as of today, July 10th, Playland has opened with limited rides.

While there isn’t a Fair at the PNE this year, Playland is now open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with only a handful of rides and attractions operating.

  • Honeybee Express
  • Choppers
  • Kettle Creek Mine Coaster
  • Tea Cups
  • Cap’n KC
  • Merry-Go-Round
  • Balloon Explorers
  • The Flutterbye
  • Cool Cruzers
  • Pacific Adventure Golf
  • Bug Whirled
  • Sea-to-Sky Swinger

Food service is also scaled back, with limited offerings from Triple O’s; fear not, those famous mini donuts and cotton candy are available. Playland asks that visitors use the tap feature on their credit or debit cards when making food and drink purchases.

In an effort to limit crowding, tickets are available only for certain time slots so that attendees can maintain distancing while in the park. Masks are required while waiting in line and on the rides. A souvenir mask is included with the cost of admission and comes in adult and junior sizes, according to thee PNE web site.

Tickets for Playland are available online for $29.50 for children and adults — children three and under are free with an accompanying adult fare.
