A trailer for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, the follow-up to Rumiko Takahashi’s popular manga (and its anime adaptation) Inuyasha, was uploaded to Viz Media’s YouTube channel this evening, giving a glimpse into this new series which airs October 2020.

Viz Media also posted promotional artwork of the animated cast for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon on their Twitter account.

Viz Media recently acquired the North American distribution rights for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon this past May.

Remaining in feudal Japan, sisters Towa and Setsuna, the daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha, find themselves caught in a raging forest fire. Cut off from her sister by the flames, Towa seeks refuge in a tunnel, finding that it leads her into modern-day Japan and into the care of Kagome Higurashi’s brother Sota.

Closing after that fateful day, the portal reopens a decade later and in that time, Setsuna has forgotten all about her older sister. Returning to the feudal era, Towa is unrecognizable to Setsuna, who now makes her living in the employ of Kohaku as a demon slayer. Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, accompanies the twins in a quest not unlike the one their parents took so many years before, to recover their memories and re-establish their relationship with one another.
