Aniplex announces new skateboarding anime SK8 the Infinity

Get ready to hit the streets with a new anime from the world of skateboarding in SK8 the Infinity (also stylized as SK∞) with a trailer shared to social media by Aniplex of America to hype up the series before it airs in January 2021.

The official anime web site explains that Reki and Langa are second-year high school students, with Reki who loves to ride his board and Langa, who used to live in Canada, has never skated before in his life.

SK8 the Infinity is being directed by Hiroko Utsumi (Free!, Banana Fish), with series composition by Ichiro Ohkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress). Michinori Chiba (Basilisk, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is leading the character design while the music is composed by Ryo Takahashi (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., BanG Dream!). Animation studio Bones (Eureka Seven, My Hero Academia) is handling the production.
