A mid-morning shot shows the lone Chevron floating gas station in Coal Harbour with Canada Place and the towers of downtown Vancouver partially shrouded by the haze.

With all the smoke hanging around, health officials have asked anyone who has trouble breathing to avoid strenuous outdoor activity. It’s also recommended to stay indoors with windows and doors closed to limit exposure to the smog.

The smoke is expected to dissipate through the coming week.
