As most events have either cancelled or rescheduled into 2021, the UBC Apple Festival has moved online, albeit with a much scaled down setup. The annual celebration of the tree fruit is another casualty of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Usually the festival would see thousands of people visiting the lush botanical gardens at the University of British Columbia to purchase pre-bagged apples, pears, saplings and of course, locally baked goods, apple-themed treats, drinks and live entertainment. In its place, the UBC Apple Market has made available limited availability of bagged organic apples of Ambrosia, Aurora Golden Gala, Cox’s Orange Pippin, and Red Fuji varieties and apple trees for ordering online.

Purchases made online must be picked up at a pre-determined time slot between Friday, October 16th thru Sunday, October 18th, 2020.

Proceeds go towards the UBC Botanical Garden.
