Black Clover, the anime adaptation of the manga by Yuuki Tabata, is ending, with the final episode to air alongside a special announcement on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 according to series’ official web site.
Asta is an aspiring mage with his eyes set on becoming the next Wizard King. His only obstacle is that he can’t cast any magic! Yuno, like Asta, was an orphan, but is a whiz with mana. Wielding hefty spellbound books called grimoires, both boys set out to see who’s the best and to reach their ultimate goal of becoming the Wizard King.
Episode 170 is the last, and the Japanese voice cast will appear to present an announcement as well. Asta’s voice actor, Gakuto Kajiwara, shared his thoughts after spending the last three and a half years in the recording studio, with it “…becoming his daily life.” While he’s sad Black Clover is ending, he says Asta’s story will continue, for fans keep their ears open for his loud voice and to thank them for their support.
Black Clover, animated by Pierrot, began airing in Japan on October 3rd, 2017 on TV Tokyo. It has since been picked up by Crunchyroll and Funimation for streaming globally.
