As the final episode of the second season of Dr. STONE aired today, Senku and his quest to revive humanity from their rocky prison is not quite over yet. A sequel to the acclaimed series is in development, with a teaser video uploaded to YouTube and Twitter.

With the Kingdom of Science behind them, Senku sets sail across the ocean to begin a new adventure, replete with dashing buccaneer outfits.

A post on Twitter also shared the video and thanked fans for their ongoing support of Dr. STONE.

Set 3,700 years in the future following a mysterious flash that petrified all life on Earth, Senku, a Japanese student awakens to a world devoid of humans who still remain frozen in place. Using his own knowledge, he begins to recreate lost technologies and bring back those he knew from the year 2038.

The anime is based on the manga of the same name written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, began airing 2019. A second season started broadcast in January of this year.

No date or additional details of this Dr. STONE sequel were provided.
