High fashion just got a little more appealing with a unique collaboration between Bananya and Gucci with a line-up of t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, footwear and accessories.
Bananya, an anime about cats who live inside bananas, follows their lives and the titular feline Bananya, who wishes to one day bathe in chocolate. Crunchyroll is currently licensed to stream both seasons of the series outside of Asia.
This collection, which launched this month on Gucci’s web site and at company-owned stores, includes a variety of styles to suit any fan of the series. The t-shirts come in black, white or pink, with the banana-bound cats atop the Gucci logo. Sweaters, one hoodie and two crew-neck, come in strawberry pink, vanilla white and pistachio green with similar designs. And there’s two pairs of shoes for the sneakerhead; first of which has the Gucci logo overlaid with the cats, and another pair with the bunch over the brand’s iconic red and green stripes. To dazzle any evening out, a selection of brooches come with all three cats together or just Bananya himself in glittering crystal. There’s even a golden chain with an enamel Bananya inside his gilded fruit, perfect for that subtle, but glamorous look.
However, these eye-catching clothing are quite costly, as most items from Gucci are, with prices for the t-shirts starting at $700 CAD, increasing to $1,600 CAD for the hoodie.
