Three Japanese vocal cast members for The Rising of the Shield Hero are making an appearance at this year’s Virtual Crunchyroll Expo, an online anime convention hosted by the streaming platform.

The guests are the third group announced for V-CRX, which include: Asami Seto, who voices Raphtalia, Kaito Ishikawa, who voices Naofumi Iwatani, and Rina Hidaka, who voices Filo.

In The Rising of the Shield Hero, young Naofumi Iwatani finds himself in another universe, with others from his own world. Pulled into service to fight off invading monsters, Naofumi is entrusted with the Legendary Shield to carry out this task. Though Naofumi finds himself downtrodden after being betrayed and having everything taken from him, he crosses paths with a slave trader from whom he purchases Raphtalia, a young fox-girl. Together with the winged creature named Filo, Naofumi and Raphtalia work to restore themselves and save their world. A second season for The Rising of the Shield Hero is coming this October.

Virtual Crunchyroll Expo runs August 5th-7th, 2021 and is free to register to enjoy all the perks of an anime convention, but digitally. Panels, cosplay, concerts, and plenty of interactive events with fans from across the world are packed into this three-day con.

Friday, June 11th, is the last day for fan panel submissions, so don’t wait!
