With Virtual Crunchyroll Expo a week away, the team has been hard at work behind the scenes preparing for an amazing three-day free online anime convention running August 5th – 7th, 2021.

Setup to resemble a giant city overflowing with Japanese pop-culture, New Crunchy City is split into four districts: Theater for video content, with four stages streaming 24 hours a day, Super Arcade for activities and interactions with anime fans across the globe, purchase fan art in Anime Arts District and grab some sweet swag in the Central Shopping District.

The playbook for the event is jam-packed with so much anime, panels and performances, Crunchyroll is letting fans enjoy the action through August 9th with their video on demand feature.

Here’s a peek at some of the programming planned for 2021:

  • Cast and staff from Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X, The Rising of The Shield Hero, To Your Eternity, and more!
  • Premieres to a number of Crunchyroll exclusives like Sakugan, second season of Restaurant to Another World, TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You ~SNS~!, and Fena: Pirate Princess.
  • Panels galore, with ones that explore the making of Blade Runner: Black Lotus, the Professional Athletes of Anime featuring the defensive end of New York Giants, Ifeadi Odenigbo, and defensive tackle of Cincinnati Bengals, Larry Ogunjobi, and conversations with voice actors Junya Enoki from Jujutsu Kaisen and Girlfriend, Girlfriend and Zeno Robinson of My Hero Academia fame.
  • Crunchyroll-Hime’s Cosplay Cup has 41 finalists from eight countries dressed in their best to take top spot with their colourful costumes.
  • Catch up and learn more about Crunchyroll Games and their latest mobile releases including Princess Connect! Re: Dive, Mitrasphere, and Grand Summoners.
  • Lots of live music with concerts performing songs from The Rising of The Shield Hero and Tower of God as well as bands 7 Billion Dots, Burnout Syndromes, MAGIC OF LiFE, Rhythmic Toy World, and TeddyLoid.
