Crunchyroll to stream upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba story arcs this October and December

Today, the much anticipated second season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is coming to anime streaming service Crunchyroll with two story arcs that will air this October and December.

The seven-episode Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc recaps the events of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train with new music (inlcuding opening and closing themes), scenes and animations to help tie it into the previous Unwavering Resolve Arc and the upcoming Entertainment District Arc. Kyojuro Rengoku also gets a dedicated episode which leads into his arrival at the station to board the Mugen Train. LiSA, who sang the first season’s opening “Gurenge” and the movie theme “Homura”, returns to perform the opening song “Akeboshi” and closing “Shirogane”. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc premieres on Crunchyroll on Sunday, October 10th, 2021.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc begins with an hour-long episode revealing the Daki (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro) as the primary protagonist terrorizing the streets of Tokyo’s underbelly. Japanse pop singer Aimer will perform the opening themes “Zankyosanka” and “Asa ga kuru”. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc premieres on Crunchyroll on Sunday, December 5th, 2021.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an adaptation of the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which has sold more than 150 million copies in Japan, according to a press release from Crunchyroll. In this harrowing tale, Tanjiro Kamado travels with his sister, Nezuko, looking for a way to restore her humanity after their family was slaughtered by demons under the command of demon lord Muzan Kibutsuji.

Crunchyroll, which was recently acquired by Funimation Global Group, is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, also includes Aniplex, a producer of the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
