Nintendo drops new games and updates coming to the Switch

Things are looking up for gamers as Nintendo shared new titles, content and updates to its services for the Nintendo Switch console. However, absent from this afternoon’s 40 minute presentation was a status on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch OLED model.

New games announced include Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3 and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, plus titles from Square Enix, classic remakes, all of this next to membership plan changes for Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo Switch Online

In late October 2021, the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership tier becomes available which, for an additional fee, grants access to amazing Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games.

Nintendo 64 games available at launch:

Complimenting this nostalgic release, Nintendo revealed wireless versions of the Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis controllers compatible with these titles.

Downloadable Content

Downloadable content is coming for a number of existing titles on the Nintendo Switch: free updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Golf: Super Rush, with paid expansions for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latter of which will be revealed in the final “Mr. Sakurai Presents” on October 5th, 2021.
