Crunchyroll announces new shows and guest appearance in Mitrasphere

During last weekend’s New York Comic Con, Crunchyroll revealed details of two upcoming series joining the streaming service as well as the arrival of new character in the mobile game Mitrasphere.

High Guardian Spice, a Crunchyroll Originals series, follows four girls in attendance at the High Guardian Academy. Their wacky adventures through their journey to become guardians have them face hardships, uncover their origins and learn more about themselves.

All 12 episodes of High Guardian Spice, will stream on Crunchyroll on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021. Series creator and executive producer Raye Rodriguez makes a guest appearance as the voice one of the academy’s top guardians Professor Caraway.

An animated adaptation of the post-apocalyptic webcomic FreakAngels is coming to Crunchyroll in 2022 under their Crunchyroll Originals banner.

In the aftermath of Great Britain’s destruction, the London borough of Whitechapel survives under an inexplicable protective purple bubble where twelve 23-year-olds, dubbed the FreakAngels, use their psychic abilities to keep the peace. The group must overcome their own differences, external forces and troubles created by the remaining residents of Whitechapel; challenges not easily overcome.

Crunchyroll-Hime makes her debut in the mobile game Mitrasphere.

Crunchyroll-Hime, Crunchyroll’s red-haired princess mascot, is joining the mobile game Mitrasphere. In this limited-time appearance, Crunchyroll-Hime and Yuzu are transported to the main square of Edol Town, home of the “plainsfolk”, spoiling a plot by the devious Sky Pirates. To keep the Sky Pirates from raiding Edol Town, Crunchyroll-Hime, Yuzu, Matilda, and Hildegard band up to protect this bustling city. Mitrasphere is available for both Android and Apple iOS devices.
