As Japan continues to remain closed for international tourists wishing to visit the country for non-essential travel, fans are missing out on the sights and experiences the island nation has to offer. That’s not stopping the Gundam Factory in Yokohama from hosting a “backyard tour” of the facility online for fans to watch and a chance to ask some questions about the massive mecha.

For ¥1400 JPY (approximately $15.94 CAD), the Gundam Factory Yokohama Online Back Yard Tour “Mission 0 (ZERO)” allows fans to watch a 90-minute long pre-recorded video of the dock for a peek behind the scenes on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 at 6:00 pm PDT (9:00 pm EDT). During this video, viewers can ask questions which will be answered by staff in an online chat. The video, which was recorded in May and August of this year, will stream with Japanese audio, but offers English subtitles that must be selected before purchasing tickets.

Open to visitors on December 19th, 2020, Gundam Factory features a 18 meter (59 feet), mobile version of the RX-78F00 unit. A pricing tier allows visitors to view the mecha from a platform, or, at a premium, a chance to control its 34 points of articulation through a control panel in the structure supporting the Gundam itself.
