New artwork teases sixth season of My Hero Academia

It’s official, a sixth season of the anime My Hero Academia is on the way and artwork featuring hero-in-training Izuku Midoriya and villain Shigaraki Tomura was shared to promote this new season.

A post on social media, translated into English, reads:

The first visual ban on the 6th season of the TV animation has been lifted!

Heroes and enemies <Villains>.

A full-scale war is approaching.

The image, young hero Izuku “Deku” Midoriya on the left and Shigaraki Tomura, leader of the League of Villains and later, the Paranormal Liberation Front, are split down the middle by the phrase “total war” — referencing the all out battle between the heroes and villains that’s expected in the upcoming season.

Season five of My Hero Academia recently completed broadcast in September 2021.

My Hero Academia is the anime adaptation of the manga of by the same name written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. The story follows the students of U.A. High School’s class 1-A in their journey to become professional heroes. In the modern world, most of the global population wield unique abilities called “quirks”, with some who use this power to do good, while others — the villains — use it to cause harm.

In North America, Viz Media publishes the English-translated My Hero Academia manga, while Funimation and Crunchyroll stream subbed and dubbed episodes of the anime.

A date for when season six of My Hero Academia begins broadcast was not provided.
