For the second year in a row, municipalities in Metro Vancouver are asking the public to observe Remembrance Day services at home either on television or virtually this Thursday, November 11th, 2021.

While guidelines over gatherings in public have loosened, organizers have decided to continue with scaled down and virtual events. Many of Canada’s veterans are in age groups that are susceptible to the coronavirus and large crowds of people at ceremonies could initiate a spread putting them at risk of infection.

The largest observance at the Cenotaph in Vancouver’s Victory Square will be streamed on Facebook and televised on CTV and Global from 10:30 am to 11:30 am PST.

Surrey will host their ceremony on Facebook through their Heritage Surrey and the City of Surrey pages at 10:30 am PST.

New Westminster will livestream the service on the city’s YouTube channel and Facebook page and on TELUS Optik channel 710 starting at 10:30 am PST.

Richmond will also stream their service online when it begins at 10:25 am PST.

Delta will share a pre-recorded video virtually on their Facebook page at 11:00 am PST.

North Vancouver will livestream their ceremony online starting at 10:30 am PST.

Lest we forget.
