Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD

The Walt Disney Company and Viz Media have worked out a deal to broadcast Naruto Shippuden on the Disney XD channel this October.

Disney XD is a channel aimed at boys aged 6 to 10, and Disney believes that this will be a draw as Naruto Shippuden proved popular once Viz started streaming subtitled episodes earlier this year. Naruto Shippuden follows the original Naruto series, with the titular character as a teenager. The first four episodes of Naruto Shippuden are currently available on iTunes.

Disney recently purchased Marvel Entertainment back on August 31st, 2009.

Ninja fans, rejoice! Naruto Shippuden is now available for download from the iTunes store. Even though Viz is releasing the first DVD for the series at the end of September, four episodes are currently available for purchase, at $1.99 a show or $22.99 for the season (this includes any episodes that are still being broadcast for this season).

Soul Eater English Cast

Now that FUNimation has acquired the rights to Atsushi Okubo’s Soul Eater, the names for the English voice cast are being released. Soul Eater follows Maka Albarn, Death the Kid and Black Star, who are all students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy in Death City where they train to use their weapons called Death Scythes.

So far we know that Todd Haberkorn is Death the Kid, Cherami Leigh as Patty, along with Jamie Marchi as Liz and Vic Mignogna as Death Scythe.

FUNimation will be posting additional names this coming Tuesday, so that leaves Maka Albarn, Black Star, Tsubaki, and Soul Eater Evans among others who are still waiting for a voice actor.
